Daily Practice
2 hours
I went to Kurt's group Voice Tech class today. It was a packed house... everyone is trying to meet their Challenge requirements! I also went home and worked through the exercises that I had worked on yesterday during my private lesson-- specifically my 'cry' through the two transitions in my voice. I spent some time working on "Someone Like You" from Jekyll and Hyde. I think that will be the song I'll start to work on for a musical theater audition.
Healthy Meals 9, 10, and 11
Breakfast- Kashi cereal |
Lunch- chicken sandwich |
Dinner- salad and yogurt |
I finally switched it up a little today. Jorge and I went to Subway in between classes today. I tried the new Orchard Chicken Salad Sandwich-- it was so-so. I loaded it up with veggies though, and I was really upset to find out that there's a $0.50 charge for spinach! Of course I wasn't told that until after my sandwich was wrapped and bagged... I was tempted to have had them take each leaf back out... :)
Dance Class 2
I took ballet with Goheen again this morning. Note of the day: Releve is not about going up; it's about pushing down. "Once you master the releve, you will turn like a top!" Noted.

By the end of this challenge, I have to 1) attend one industry audition, 2) sing in front of a live audience, and 3) post a video to You Tube. Yikes! So I'm going to rip the band-aid off and share with you my starting point. Keep in mind that this is only Day 4, and I just learned this song two days ago! I haven't worked it with a coach or anything, and I had no accompaniment. I sound nervous, several notes fell flat, my transitions into phrases are weak, and I accidentally changed part of the song... I know. This is just my benchmark so I can show growth when the end of the month comes...
