Day 6

Daily Practice
50 mins
I worked through the first 13 exercises again this morning before going to work.  Tonight I worked a few more exercises and practiced "Landslide" a couple times before my roommate came home.  It's so awkward trying to rehearse when your roommates are around.  Thankfully they sleep in later than me, so if I get up early, I can get in a good hour of practice before they wake up.  Speaking of which, I need to start going to bed earlier!  I keep staying up late for NO reason-- just watching tv and playing on Facebook, then when it's time to wake up and start practice, I snooze excessively and get off to a rushed start.  So I'm going to include healthy sleeping habits as part of this challenge!

Healthy Meals 13 and 14
Switched it up and had oatmeal this morning!  I finished the other half of my Subway sandwich for lunch, and again with the laziness, I settled with cereal for dinner.

Dance Class 4

I finished the day with a Jazz Funk class with Chio.  Her choreography is so fun, and I actually picked it up today! We didn't dance to this song tonight, but here's a clip of her style in case you've never seen her: Chio's Jazz Funk class.

I'm glad I'm sticking with the rehearsals because I know that over time I can only get better, but today I wasn't really happy with my sound.  I think this is a lot like gaining flexibility when you first start dancing.  Every day you go through your series of stretches trying to get your splits, but some days it feels like you're not getting anywhere.  It's not until a few weeks later that you realize that you're so much closer to the ground than you ever used to be, or you can pull your head so much closer to your knees than when you first started.  Voice is the same way.  From one day to the next, I don't necessarily hear a dramatic change, but I just have to trust that I'm getting better, and that I'm developing and strengthening my vocal muscles-- just as it works with any other muscle in my body.  Cheers to persistence!
